Families trying to choose a nursing home for their loved ones need vital information to make informed decisions.
On Jan. 1, 2011, the state law I initiated, requiring nursing homes to publicly display their federal five-star rating went into effect.
This significant reform will bring peace of mind to families and serve to protect one of our state’s most vulnerable populations.
The new law requires nursing homes to:
- Post the federal government’s grading reports
- Make inspection reports available upon request
To ensure compliance, the county established a hotline at 1-800-228-1019
